Meet Kait

One part photographer. One part science teacher. One part diet coke (just kidding, kinda)

Most days you’ll find me teaching chemistry to high school students, chasing my wild kid, or with my nose in a book. But you’re here for photos, which are my accidental job that I just can’t get enough of.

My first camera memories are from this little film camera that printed stickers – Gen Z could never. But my love affair with weddings and portraits came a bit later, when helping a photographer friend during her maternity leave turned into something that tickled my creative itch just right. I love the challenge of thinking on my feet, managing crowds, getting to know my couples, and getting to capture all of the moments in between. Ten years later – here we are!

My very favorite things I've ever photographed

  • California’s Central Coast. My 2019 trip there is some of my favorite film I’ve ever shot.
  • Grandparents. Yours, mine, anyone’s ever. If you’re fortunate enough to have them around, I want to photograph them.
  • The mid-aisle kiss during the recessional. It’s a money shot every time.
  • Dogs. At home, at the park, at weddings. If you’re wondering whether or not to bring your dog into photos, the answer is yes.

The Heart Behind the Photos

One thing most people know about me is how much I love being around my family. I genuinely think they’re the coolest people out there, and if I could spend all of my time with them, I would! But because we’re all scattered, we lean on photos & Facetime to stay connected.

My mom & stepdad have always been a beautiful example of love, intimacy and marriage. And when my stepdad got sick, it wasn’t home decor or baked goods that my mom brought to the hospital, it was photos. Photos remind us of the strength, courage and hope that reside in all of us the way few other things can.

If you’re looking for images that are beautiful and emotive and a photo experience that is as easy as checking into a five star hotel, you’re in the right place.

I value taking the time to get to know each couple and family that I work with so that I can best tell the story of their lives. Get ready to fill your walls with images that make you smile for years to come.
