this time in your life deserves to be captured by something other than your iPhone. Family sessions were born from past wedding couples asking me to document their growing families and now I just can’t get enough!
I love creating photos to remind families that in spite of the fact that the car of their floor is covered in cereal, their laundry room looks like an episode of hoarders, and parents are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story are beautiful.
So let’s plan a day, pick a location that is meaningful to you and create a slew of images that will fill up the frames your walls for years to come.

What if we're awkward and my kids don't sit still?
If I had a nickel for every time someone says they’re “awkward in front of the camera” my son’s college savings account would be fully funded. I get it – being in front of a lens feels weird for adults and kids alike! My hope is that my presence puts you at ease enough to relax and actually enjoy your session. My main strategy is to work with the wiggly kids, not against them. They want to move – let’s get up and dance! They want to face away from the camera – time for some family cuddles. I’m a roll with the punches kind of girl.

What should we wear?
The right answer to this question is to always wear something that feels good. If you feel uncomfortable in your clothes, it will show. Whether you dress up or down is your decision, but I recommend choosing things that “go” together rather than being matchy-matchy. Stay away from overly large patterns and try to mix up the textures. And I’m always on standby to veto or approve of options if you need help!

How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better! My weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly – especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, I’ll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know!

How many photos will we get?
Portrait sessions usually receive anywhere from 50-100 photos, depending on the length of your session and the family dynamics (more kids = more photos). You’ll receive your completed gallery online with full download and printing rights. Portrait sessions are usually delivered within 3 weeks, and from there you can wallpaper your home with your new family photos!
